Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account or using the Split the Juice platform (the "Service"), you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. About Split the Juice

Split the Juice is a community platform for UK surfers. It enables members to share surf lifts, buy and sell second-hand surfboards, connect with coaches, access partner discounts, and communicate via community chat. Split the Juice is not a transport provider, employment agency, or regulated financial service.

3. Membership & Payment

• Membership costs £1/month or £5/year, billed through Stripe.
• Payments are non-refundable except where required by law.
• You may cancel your membership at any time by emailing Splitthejuicetest@gmail.com.
• We reserve the right to change pricing with 30 days' notice to active members.

4. User Responsibilities

• You must be 18 years of age or older to use the Service.
• You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials.
• You must provide accurate information when registering.
• You must not use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
• You must comply with our Community Guidelines at all times.

5. Ride Sharing

• Drivers are solely responsible for ensuring they hold a valid UK driving licence and appropriate insurance.
• Contributions from passengers must not exceed the actual running costs of the vehicle (fuel, wear, depreciation). No profit may be made.
• Split the Juice is a platform facilitator only. We accept no liability for journeys, accidents, losses, or disputes arising from ride arrangements.
• Under the Public Passenger Vehicles Act 1981 (Section 1(4)), legitimate cost-sharing is permitted provided no profit is made.

6. User-Generated Content

• You retain ownership of content you post (messages, listings, photos, videos).
• By posting content, you grant Split the Juice a non-exclusive licence to display that content within the platform.
• You must not post content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, harassing, or in violation of third-party rights.
• We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
• You are solely responsible for any content you upload, including videos shared within the platform.

7. Board Marketplace

The board marketplace is a peer-to-peer service. Split the Juice is not a party to any transaction between buyers and sellers. We do not guarantee the accuracy of listings or the condition of goods sold. Disputes between buyers and sellers are the responsibility of the parties involved.

8. Coaching Services

Coaching connections facilitated through the platform are between independent coaches and students. Split the Juice is not responsible for the quality, safety, or outcomes of any coaching sessions. Coaches listed as partners have agreed to our partner terms.

9. Account Suspension & Termination

• We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms or our Community Guidelines.
• You may delete your account at any time via the app or by emailing Splitthejuicetest@gmail.com.
• On account deletion, your personal data will be removed in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Split the Juice shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or financial loss arising from ride arrangements, marketplace transactions, or coaching sessions.

11. Intellectual Property

All platform design, branding, logos, and code are the property of Split the Juice. You may not reproduce, copy, or redistribute them without our express written consent.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active members of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
